Milano Named to Bednarik Award Watch List

The linebacker earned All-ACC Third-Team honors as a junior

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior linebacker Matt Milano earned a spot on the 2016 22^nd Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Tuesday morning. The award is presented annually to the college defensive player of the year by the organization.

Milano enters his senior year with 83 career tackles, including 20.5 tackles for a loss of 100 yards, over 37 games in the Maroon and Gold. In 2015, he led the Eagles with 17.5 tackles for a loss and 6.5 sacks for a loss of 45 yards. He also blocked two punts on the special teams units. The Orlando, Fla., native earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference third-team honors from the league's head coaches and honorable mention from the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA). He was also selected as a Pro Football Focus All-American honorable mention.
