Friday gave a glimpse into the 2016 season
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College seniors Matt Milano and Myles Willis, along with fourth-year head coach Steve Addazio spent Friday at the 2016 ACC Kickoff, the Atlantic Coast Conference's annual media day, at the Charlotte Westin.
Milano explained that the BC defense will be the same tough, aggressive one that fans saw in 2015 - the one that ranked No. 1 in the nation. While he is looking forward to traveling outside the United States for the first time, he knows the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland, on Sept. 3 will be a tough matchup against triple-threat option Georgia Tech.Â
And while last year's 0-8 conference record was a disappointment to all, Addazio said he and the team have learned from the experience and notes that the Eagles will put a better product on the field in 2016. He plans on doing this by beefing up the offense to compliment the already stout defense.Â
ESPN.com college football reporter Andrea Adelson reported that Willis is playing scout team quarterback as BC prepares for the Yellow Jackets as his high school team played used the same offense.Â
Aside from answering the tough questions, the Eagles also had some fun in Charlotte. Willis came up the two-day high score among all student-athletes in the ACC Digital Network's virtual reality Fruit Ninja challenge and Addazio played "Dude or Not a Dude" with ACCDN's Jeff Fischel. Â
The two-day event started with the ACC announcing a partnership with ESPN to launch the ACC Network, which will give BC greater visibility and an increase in revenue, according to the Boston Herald.Â
