It is the first honor for the recent graduate
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Recent Boston College graduate Logan Hoggarth was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Baseball Team, the league announced on Friday. The outfielder earned the honor for the first time in his career.
Â
The North Port, Fla., native finished his career at The Heights with a .253 batting average, 150 hits, 56 runs and 57 RBIs. He started 48 of the 53 games played in 2016 with a .280 batting clip, 45 hits, 21 runs and was 10-of-11 on the stolen base path. He also made just one error in 91 chances in the outfield for a .989 fielding percentage while recording three assists. Hoggarth recorded a career-long, 11-game hit streak that started in 2015 tied for 14th in BC record books. He tallied four hits, five runs and four walks in the NCAA Tournament with two outfield assists.
Â
Hoggarth is the ninth Eagles to earn All-ACC Academic Team honors. He graduated with a communication degree from the Morrissey College of Arts and Science in May.
Â
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Â
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
