The Eagles will open the 2016 season in Ireland on Sept. 3 against Georgia Tech
One hundred days from today, the Boston College football team will kick off the 2016 season at the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
Â
Facing off against ACC foe Georgia Tech on Saturday, Sept. 3, the teams will play the very first college football game of the 2016 season. Kickoff is set for 7:30 a.m. ET (12:30 p.m. IT) at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, and ESPN2 will broadcast the game live.
Â
This will be the Eagles' second game in program history played in Ireland, following their immensely popular Nov. 19,1988 visit when they defeated Army 38-24 at Lansdowne Road Stadium. Aviva Stadium was built on the former site of Lansdown Road Stadium.
Â
Limited tickets are still available to U.S. fans, as well as travel and hospitality packages – including golf, tourist and cultural excursions. More information is available at collegefootballireland.com. Flights and hotels rooms can also be booked through the game's official website.
Â
Aer Lingus recently added almost 1,000 additional seats on flights between Boston and Dublin on Sept. 1 and Sept. 5 to accommodate BC fans headed to the game over Labor Day weekend.
