Dunn Named ACC Pitcher of the Week

The junior threw his first complete game
DURHAM, N.C. – Boston College junior Justin Dunn was named Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday. It is the first weekly honor for the right-hander and the first weekly pitching honor for the Eagles (31-19, 13-15 ACC) this season.

Dunn threw his first career complete game to keep Boston College in the hunt for a berth in this week's ACC Baseball Championship with a win over No. 22 Georgia Tech in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday. The Eagles the won the second game to make the postseason for the first time since 2010. The Freeport, N.Y., native tallied a career-high nine strikeouts and did not walk a batter for the first time as a starter while lowering his ERA to 1.35 (1.22 as a starter). Dunn allowed just eight Georgia Tech baserunners in the game.

Dunn is 3-1 with two saves and three combined shutouts on the year. His ERA currently ranks first on BC's single-season records list and opponents are batting just .210 against him, which ties for fifth in BC history.

North Carolina's Logan Warmoth was named Player of the Week.

The Eagles play Georgia Tech on Tuesday, May 24 at 3 p.m. in the first round of the ACC Baseball Championship.
