Dair Claims Win at #1 Singles in Duke Loss

Eagles’ sophomore moves to 7-2 in conference play
DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomore Asiya Dair, ranked No. 80 in the country, moved to 11-4 overall on the season and 7-2 in ACC play with a straight-set win over No. 67 Chalena Scholl in the top singles spot this afternoon. However, it wasn't enough as the No. 55 Boston College women's tennis team fell to eighth-ranked Duke on the road Saturday afternoon.
Dair's win was her third straight and evened her mark in the No. 1 singles spot to 2-2 on the season. She is now 5-1 this season against nationally-ranked opponents.
The Blue Devils claimed the doubles point with wins on the Nos. 1 and 3 courts. Duke then won on singles courts No. 2 through six in straight sets before Dair wrapped up the Eagles' lone win of the day.
BC (8-11, 3-9 ACC) returns to action on Sunday, April 10, when they travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face No. 2 North Carolina at 1 p.m.
