Team USA Adds Santini to Men's Worlds Roster

Boston College's alternate captain in 2015-16, Steve Santini, was added to the the 2016 U.S. Men's National Team roster on April 29

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Steve Santini became the fourth Eagle named to the 2016 U.S. Men's National Team roster that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship from May 6 to May 22 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.
Santini will join Thatcher Demko, Noah Hanifin and Miles Wood to bring the roster to 13 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders. There are two more spots to round out the 25-man squad.
The Mahopac, N.Y. native will be representing the United States for the third time. A member of the 2014 U.S. National Junior Team, Santini helped the U.S. Men's National Under-18 to a silver medal at the 2013 IIHF Men's Under-18 World Championship where he received the directorate award as the tournament's best defenseman.
BC's alternate captain this past season was named Hockey East's Best Defensive Defenseman and logged a career-best 19 points (1-18-19) after playing in all 41 games for the Eagles.
Santini signed a three-year entry level contract with the New Jersey Devils on April 8 and played in the Devils' final game of the season in Newark alongside Wood.
Boston College now matches Michigan for the most representatives on Team USA's roster to this point.
