Dudeck Honored as 2016 NFF Hampshire Honor Society Member

The graduating senior was also named BC’s Scanlan Award winner
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior David Dudeck was named to the 2016 Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame (NFF). The society is comprised of college football players from all divisions who maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their collegiate careers.

A total of 875 players from 278 schools qualified for membership as the society celebrated its 10th anniversary, setting a new record for the number of players honored. Â Qualifications for member
ship include: being a starter of significant contributor in the player's last year of eligibility, achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average through entire undergraduate study and meeting all NCAA-mandated progress toward degree requirements.

Dudeck, a wide receiver from Hamilton, N.J., will graduate in May from the Carroll School of Management with a degree in finance and management. He was awarded the Scanlan Award, Boston College's highest football honor given to the senior who best embodies the ideals of Tom Scanlan, class of 1920. He was consistently one of the last players to leave the practice field each day. In 45 career games, he amassed 514 receiving yards on 60 catches, three touchdowns and a career-long, 41-yard reception at Wake Forest in 2014. He also recorded 119 rushing yards on 46 carries, mostly in his freshman campaign and scored a touchdown on the ground. A member of special teams, he returned three punts for 25 yards and tallied 12 kick returns for 172 yards.

Dudeck was among a group of senior leaders who was chosen randomly each week to be a game captain. He also earned the Athletics Director's Award for Academc Achievement every year of his BC career.
