Louisville Sweeps Men at ACC Championship

Eagles see their 2015-16 season come to an end
CARY, N.C. - The Boston College men's tennis team ended its 2015-16 season on Wednesday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to Louisville in the first round of the ACC Championship at the Cary Tennis Park.
The Cardinals won the doubles point with wins on the Nos. 1 and 3 courts, before winning singles matches on the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 courts.
In doubles, the Eagles' No. 1 team of Kyle Childree and Hank Workman fell to Alex Gornet and George Hedley 6-4, before the No. 3 team of Kent Mukai and Jeffrey Melvin lost 6-3 to Courtney Lock and Sean Donahue. At No. 2 doubles, BC's tandem of Alexandre Thirouin and Aidan McNulty won 6-4, but Louisville still claimed the doubles point.
In singles, Workman dropped his match on the No. 2 court to U of L's Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff 6-3, 6-0, while Melvin lost to Jeffrey Brown, 6-0, 6-4, on the No. 3 court. Mukai dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Hedley at the No. 5 position.
Thirouin was ahead in his singles match, winning the first set 6-3 before his match was abandoned with Brandon Lancaster ahead 4-2 in the second set.
BC finished the year 6-18.
