BC HIGHLIGHTS
- With the win, the Eagles claimed the Black and Orange Challenge championship.
- The team's current seven-game winning streak is its longest since winning eight straight in 2012.
- Sophomore Jordan Chimento was 0-of-3 at the plate, snapping her hitting streak at seven games. However, she has now reached base safely in eight consecutive games.
- Freshman Loren DiEmmanuele collected a hit on all four of her plate appearances, adding three runs scored and a stolen base.
- Sophomore Jessica Dreswick hurled four shutout innings, allowing just three hits on her way to picking up her fifth win of the season.
- Freshman Carly Severini picked up a hit to extend her hit streak to seven games.
- Sophomore Annie Murphy (1-3) had a team-high two RBIs.
TURNING POINT
- Boston College scored five runs in the fourth inning, extending its lead to 7-0 and putting the game out of reach.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After two-and-a-half innings of scoreless play, the Eagles opened the scoring when Chimento reached on a fielder's choice, scoring DiEmmanuele. Murphy would later reach base due to an error, allowing another run to come in.
- The errors continued in the bottom of the fifth, allowing Boston College to pounce. Junior Taylor Coroneos stole second and came around to score after an ensuing error by the catcher. Senior Jessie Dauton would add to the total, bringing home DiEmmanuele with a double. Murphy would close out the inning's scoring with a single up the middle that plated Daulton and sophomore Chloe Sharabba while Chimento also scored on the throw.
- The Bears would get one back in the top of the fifth when Megan Lane scored on a throwing error.
- The Eagles would close things out in the bottom of the fifth with two more runs. Sharabba reached on an error that scored freshman Danielle Thomas. Later, senior Tatiana Cortez drew a walk with the bases loaded to wrap things up.
