BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Tatiana Cortez was 1-of-2 at the plate with one home run, one RBI and two runs scored. She has now homered in four consecutive games and boasts a team-leading five home runs on the season.
- Sophomore Jordan Chimento went 2-of-3 with one home run, one double and three RBI's, extending her hitting streak to six games.Â
- Freshman Carly Severini's bases-clearing double with the bases loaded extended her hitting streak to five games. She has now collected a hit in seven of the last eight games.Â
- Sophomore Annie Murphy went 2-of-2 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored.Â
- The Eagles, winners of five in a row, clinched the No. 1 seed in bracket play of the Black and Orange challenge.Â
TURNING POINT
- Boston College put six on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning, putting the game out of reach.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cyclones struck first in the top of the first when a Kelsey McFarland double plated one.
- The Eagles answered back with four in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four off three home runs by Cortez, Chimento and Murphy.
- Boston College would break the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring a total of six runs to extend the lead to 10-1. A sacrifice bunt from sophomore Chloe Sharabba brought home the first. Chimento would follow up with a double to right field that plated another. After senior Megan Cooley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Severini brought all three in to score with a double to center field.Â
