BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Jordan Chimento extended her hitting streak to seven games. She went 3-of-3 at the plate with a home run, a double and three RBI's.
- Junior Tatiana Cortez (1-3, 1 RBI) hit a home run for the fifth consecutive game. She now has a team-best six home runs on the season. Â
- Freshman Carly Severini (1-2) has now collected a hit in six straight games and eight of the last nine.
- The Eagles defeated Iowa State, 10-1, via run rule earlier in the day.
TURNING POINT
- Chloe Sharabba homered in the bottom of the fourth inning to give Boston College the lead for good.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chimento got things started for the Eagles in the bottom of the first, sending a double into right center field that plated sophomore Chloe Sharabba and freshman Loren DiEmmanuele.
- The Rams rallied in the top of the third, loading the bases. Lindsay Mayer then singled home the first run. Rachel Gillen would score another, reaching on a fielder's choice while Fordham would get two more via an error to go up 4-2 midway through the third.
- Boston College would be quick to answer in the bottom half of the inning, as solo home runs from Chimento and Cortez knotted things up back at four.
- Sharabba got in on the home-run party in the bottom of the fourth, sending a ball over the left field fence to give the Eagles a 5-4 lead.
