TURNING POINT
- Boston College rallied for three runs in the sixth to take the lead for good.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears capitalized on a bases-loaded situation in the bottom of the first inning. The first run came after Emma Andrew was hit by a pitch with two more scoring after a Lindsay Boynton single up the middle.
- The Eagles answered in the third when Daulton lifted a ball over the center field fence, scoring senior Megan Cooley to cut the deficit to 3-2.
- Boston College would jump on Mercer in the top of the sixth, loading the bases and scoring three runs in the inning. Freshman Daniele Thomas opened the inning's scoring, reaching on an error to bring one in. Cooley and DiEmmanuele followed, each collecting RBI singles to push the lead to 5-3 midway through the sixth.
- The Eagles added three more insurance runs in the top of the seventh, as Chimento singled down the right field line, bringing home sophomore Annie Murphy. Chimento would make her way home when Cortez blasted one over the center field wall to close the game's scoring.
