- Ohio State is 6-2-1 after defeating Seton Hall, 9-3, in its first game of the Snowbird. The Buckeyes fell, 3-2, in 10 innings to No. 18 Coastal Carolina on Monday. They are led by infielder Nick Sergakis, who is hiting .412 with 16 hits, including four doubles and a home run, and seven RBIs. BC will see southpaw John Havird on the mound, who does not have a decision in two starts, but has recorded a 5.25 ERA with 12 Ks. The Buckeyes will take on Illinois State on Saturday before playing BC on Sunday.
- Butler is 2-6 coming into the Snowbird Classic. The Bulldogs will play Northwestern and Indiana before the Eagles on Monday. They picked up their two wins last week, defeating Charleston Southern, 4-3, in 11 innings on Sunday and then beating Marian, 15-4, on Wednesday. Butler is led by outfielder Tyler Houston with 11 hits, a .344 average and a .438 slugging percentage. BC will see righty Danny Pobereyko, who is 0-2 with a 9.72 ERA over two starts.
- Central Michigan is still looking for its first win as the Chippewa head into the Snowbird Classic. Before the Snowbird Classic, CMU will play three in DeLand, Fla., taking on Illinois, Villanova and Stetson. The Chippewa are led by infielder Zach McKinstry, a .286 hitter with eight hits and three RBIs.
- The Boston College baseball team is 7-0, which is the best start for the program dating back to 1974.
- Right-handed starters junior Mike King and freshman Jacob Stevens are 2-0 after the first two weeks of the season. Stevens has not surrendered an unearned run through 12 innings of work. He also leads the BC pitching staff with 14 strikeouts and is one of seven pitchers in the Atlantic Coast Conference who has not given up an earned run so far in 2016.
- Redshirt sophomore RHP Bobby Skogsbergh returned to action for the first time on Feb. 21 since March 24, 2015 as an injury sidelined him after only three appearances last season. In two innings of relief work in two appearances, he has retired all six batters faced.

- Palomaki had a career day, going 5-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs and two walks in the 12-inning victory over Villanova on Feb. 28.
- Sophomore Donovan Casey's career-long hit streak came to an end against Villanova on Feb. 28 at 12 games, which for 11th in BC record books (dating back to 2005). He recorded 20 hits, 11 runs and six RBIs in that span. He has reached base in 16 games, currently the longest streak of any Eagle.
