Rios, Sertl and Ferraris Named NEISA Sailors of the Week

Three Boston College sailing team members – Raul Rios, Allison Ferraris and Katja Sertl - earned New England Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Sailors of the Week honors for helping the Eagles win the Friis Team Race Trophy hosted by the Coast Guard Academy. Over the course of the weekend, the Eagles faced off against 11 other teams from New England, the Mid Atlantic, and Pacific Coast Conferences, coming away with a 10-1 record.

Jan T. Friis Team Race
The Eagles won the Jan T. Friis Team Race hosted by the Coast Guard in an interconference regatta this past weekend.
The skippers representing the Eagles for the weekend of action were Charles Sinks, Harry Koeppel and Raul Rios. The crew included Katherine Downey, Hannah Lynn, Katja Sertl and Allison Ferraris. The team went 10-1 over the weekend. Yale placed second with a 9-2 record while Stanford was third at 9-2. Brown finished fourth (8-3) and Dartmouth was fifth (6-5).

The Eagles placed fifth at the Duplin Race hosted by Tufts this past weekend. The Eagles went 2-5 in the team races. Dartmouth won the regatta wiht an 8-2 team record while Brown went 6-4 for second place. Caroline Downey, Grace Drury, Megan Bamford, Lily McGrath, Isabella Loosbrook and Kyla MacLennan all competed for the Eagles in the regatta.

2016 Boston Team Race
Yale University won the BC Team Race hosted by the Eagles this past weekend in a two-conference regatta out of Savin Hill Yacht Club on Dorchester Bay. Yale went 11-4 over the weekend while Hobart William Smith placed second at 11-4 and Boston College placed third with a 10-5 record. Harvard placed fourth with a 9-6 record and Roger Williams was fifth at 3-12.
Boston College's Henry Dumke, Jacob Martz and Drake Lyon were the skippers for the regatta while Tara Ferraris, Emma Perry and Alice Bohan competed as the crew members.
