Asiya Dair won the Eagles' lone match of the day in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State upset the No. 53 Boston College women's tennis team on Friday afternoon at the Seminoles' indoor tennis center, 6-1.

The hosts claimed the doubles point with 6-2 wins on the No. 1 and 3 courts, then went into the singles competition to take 5-of-6 matches. It was Florida State's (9-8, 1-6 ACC) first ACC win of the season.

BC's Asiya Dair – ranked No. 86 in the country – earned the Eagles' lone win on the day, taking a 6-2, 6-4 win over Julia Mikulski on the No. 2 court.

Lexi Borr pushed her No. 1 singles match to a third-set tie-break, where she fell to No. 55 Daneika Borthwick 10-4. Emily Safron also saw her match go to three sets on the No. 4 court, but she dropped the match with a 6-4 third-set loss.

BC (7-8, 2-6 ACC) returns to the court on Sunday, March 27, when they travel to No. 6 Miami for an 11 a.m. match.
