Eagles Swept Up by No. 6 Hurricanes

Eagles fall to Miami on Easter Sunday
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 53 Boston College women's tennis team fell Sunday morning to No. 6 Miami, 7-0, at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Hurricanes opened the match by taking the doubles point with wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts. On Court 1, the ninth-ranked tandem of Stephanie Wagner and Wendy Zhang topped BC's top duo of Lexi Borr and Jackie Urbinati, who are ranked No. 64 in the country, 6-3. UM also won on Court 3 behind Silvia Fuentes and Clementina Riobueno's 6-2 defeat of Eagles Asiya Dair and Wan-Yi Sweeting.
Miami (12-4, 7-2 ACC) also swept all six singles matches, including wins by three ranked players in the Nos. 1 through 3 matches. Dair, who is ranked No. 86 nationally, fell to No. 5 Wagner, 6-2, 6-2. Borr, ranked No. 113, dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to No. 6 Sinead Lohan at No. 2 singles. Katya Vasilyev lost to No. 109 Zhang, 6-2, 6-1. Emily Safron, Jennifer Ren and Urbinai also all fell in straight sets on Courts 4, 5 and 6.
Boston College (7-9, 2-7 ACC) return to the court on Friday, April 1, when the Eagles host Pittsburgh at Dedham Health & Athletic Club at 5 p.m.
