Mannelly Named Epoch/ Lax Magazine Player of the Week

Senior midfielder tallied four goals and two assists in upset of No. 3 Syracuse Saturday
BALTIMORE (Lax Magazine)- Sarah Mannelly's six point effort over the nation's third ranked team on Saturday has earned the senior midfielder Epoch/Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week accolades. On Saturday, the No. 12 Eagles defeated No. 3 Syracuse, 13-8, behind four goals and two assists from the New Canaan, Conn. native. Her six points matched a season high.Â
Sarah Mannelly opened the scoring for the Eagles on Saturday, notchhing an unassisted tally 56 seconds into the opening frame. After her second goal on a feed from fellow Tewaaraton Award Watch List member Caroline Margolis to open the second half scoring, she registered two additional second half goals, one of which was a man-up goal. Mannelly also had assists on Sam Apuzzo and Kate Weeks second half goals as well.Â
In addition to her six points on a season high nine shots, Mannelly tallied three draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover. She now has five multi-goal games this season, tied for most this season with teammates Sam Apuzzo and Kate Weeks.Â
This was the first Epoch/LM Player of the Week nod for Sarah Mannelly this season.
