BC tops the Cardinals, 6-1
The Boston College women's tennis team captured a 6-1 road win at Louisville on Friday afternoon.Â
After the Eagles took the doubles point to claim a 1-0 lead, BC won the first four singles positions and No. 6 to win the match.Â
Both the duos of Lexi Borr and Jackie Urbinati, and Asiya Dair and Jennifer Ren won their doubles matches 6-2.Â
In singles, Borr and Dair won in straight sets at the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively, before both Katya Vasilyev and Emily Safron claimed wins in three sets. Urbinati also won a straight-set match in singles.
"I'm very happy with the way we played today," head coach Nigel Bently said. "Earning wins in this conference is always hard and it's particularly difficult for us when playing outside on the road. We've had very little outside practice this semester so this was a good win for us."
The Eagles return to action on Friday, March 25, when they travel to face Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla.Â
