WHAT'S IMPORTANT
The Eagles and Red Sox wore Strike out ALS/PF3 wrist bands in honor of former BC baseball captain and ALS champion Pete Frates. Frates, the catalyst behind the "Ice Bucket Challenge," and his family launched "Band Together to Strike Out ALS," a program that encourages teams to wear a special wristband during May, which is ALS Awareness Month, to raise ALS awareness.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday, March 5 with a doubleheader back at the Snowbird Classic, playing Northwestern at 11 a.m. and North Dakota State at 4 p.m.

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Joe Cronin went 2-for-3 on the day. He also recorded four putouts, shining defensively. The Scarborough, Maine native made a tumbling grab in foul territory against the Eagles' first-base dugout for the third out with a runner on second in the second and turned a quick 5-3 double play later in the game.
- Junior Michael Strem and sophomore Anthony Maselli were the other two Eagles to record hits off the professional team.
- Redshirt sophomore RHP Bobby Skogsbergh struck out slugger Pablo Sandoval. Sophomore RHP Brian Rapp and freshman RHP Jack Nelson also recorded Ks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Red Sox finally got to BC pitching with Rapp on the hill. The righty issued back-to-back walks and Betts went yard, launching one over the replica Green Monster in left. Rapp came back with a strikeout and grounder to end the inning.
- The Sox added two runs in the fifth off freshman RHP Sean Hughes. With runners on the corners and no outs, Cole Sturgeon hit a sac fly to left to plate one. Hughes loaded the bases on two walks and classmate LHP Zach Stromberg came on in relief. He walked in a run before Mike Miller grounded to third and Cronin stepped on the bag and fired to first for the inning-ending double play.
- The Sox scored their sixth run in the sixth off freshman RHP Jack Nelson. He put runners on second and third with one down on a single and wall-ball double and Henry Ramos hit a sac fly to make a 6-0 game.
