BC HOSTS GEORGIA TECH SATURDAY
• Boston College will host Georgia Tech inside Conte Forum on Saturday at 12 noon.
• The game will be televised by RSN/NESN and can be heard on the radio on WEEI 850 AM and bceagles.com.
• Boston College has lost its first 15 conference matchups, most recently losing to Virginia Tech on Tuesday night, 71-56.
• Georgia Tech has won four of its last five games, and beat Notre Dame and Clemson at home in the past week.
• Boston College won both meetings against the Yellow Jackets last year, including one in the ACC Tournament.
• The wins were by a combined three points.
LAST TIME vs. GEORGIA TECH
• Olivier Hanlan had game highs with 25 points and five assists while also corralling eight rebounds as Boston College beat Georgia Tech, 66-65, in the first round of the 2015 ACC Championship.Â
• Patrick Heckmann recorded 19 points and five rebounds.
• Dimitri Batten added 10 points.
• Boston College scored the game's first seven points but Georgia Tech responded with the next six to cut the lead to one.
• The Yellow Jackets scored nine unanswered points after being down 15-9 to take an 18-15 lead near the midway point of the half.
• BC took a 35-34 lead into halftime.
• The second half was tight the entire way and Georgia Tech led, 57-52, with 4:57 left. A Heckmann three and a bucket from Batten tied the game.
• The Jackets then scored the next six points to build a 63-57 lead with 1:51 left. - Hanlan converted a 1-and-1 and then Heckmann hit another triple to pull BC within a point with 1:10 left.
• Batten came up with a huge steal and found Hanlan down the court for a layup to put the Eagles ahead, 64-63, with 41 seconds remaining.
• After Georgia Tech's Tadric Jackson hit a jumper to put the Jackets back on top, Hanlan hit the game-winner with 12 seconds left. Â
EAGLES LOSE TO VIRGINIA TECH
• Senior Dennis Clifford recorded his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds as Boston College lost to Virginia Tech on Tuesday night, 71-56, at Conte Forum.
• Clifford was 6-for-8 from the field.
• He also matched a career high with four blocks while adding two assists.
• Graduate student Eli Carter had a game-high 19 points.
• Junior Garland Owens tallied nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds. He also had a career-high three steals.
• Virginia Tech scored 13 unanswered points over the span of 3:15 to build a 32-18 lead with 3:33 left in the first half.
• The Hokies would take a 40-27 lead into the break.
• The Virginia Tech lead was double digits for the entire second half.
