BC HOSTS VIRGINIA TECH TUESDAY
• Boston College will host a pair of games this week beginning with Virginia Tech on Tuesday night at 9 p.m.
• The game will be televised by ESPNU and can be heard on the radio on WEEI 850 AM and bceagles.com.
• Boston College has lost its first 14 conference matchups, most recently falling at Wake Forest on Sunday night, 74-48.
• Virginia Tech hosted Florida State on Saturday and won, 83-73.
• The Hokies have lost their last five conference road games.
• The Eagles have won each of the last four meetings between the teams, including a 66-59 win at Cassell Coliseum a year ago.
LAST TIME vs. VIRGINIA TECH
• Dimitri Batten led Boston College with 18 points, going 7-for-9 from the floor and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc as Boston College won at Virginia Tech on March 2, 2015, 66-59.
• Batten's 18 points matched a season high.
• Olivier Hanlan finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
• Dennis Clifford recorded 10 points and nine boards while Aaron Brown added 13 points.
• The first half was a series of runs and Boston College made the first one. Virginia Tech led, 10-6, but 11 unanswered BC points over 3:56 gave it a 17-10 lead.
• The Hokies responded with nine unanswered of their own to regain a 19-17 lead with 8:40 left in the half.
• Eleven-straight Eagle points from there fueled a 24-9 run to close out the half which gave BC a 41-28 lead at the break. Batten had eight of those points.
• BC continued the run in the second half and started it with an 11-2 run to build a 52-30 lead.
• The Hokies responded with a 16-2 run to cut the BC lead to 54-46 with 8:18 left. Batten scored the next five points to stop the run.
• Virginia Tech got as close as 60-54 but the Eagles pulled away in the end.
EAGLES LOSE AT WAKE FOREST
• Graduate student Eli Carter led Boston College with 18 points as Boston College lost at Wake Forest Sunday night, 74-48.
• Carter was 7-for-15 from the field.
• Junior Garland Owens recorded 13 points and five rebounds.
• Wake Forest dominated the first half from the opening tip, scoring the game's first 14 points and then opening up a 29-2 lead with 7:09 remaining.
• The Demon Deacons had a 41-14 halftime lead.
• The Wake Forest lead was over 20 points for the entire second half.
