Walter Brown Arena | Boston, Mass.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 1st, 9:07 – 1-0, BC GOAL (PPG) | The Eagles got into their attacking end on the power play and Caitrin Lonergan picked the puck out of a scrum on the boards, came around the back of the next and fired a pass back across the zone to Grace Bizal at the far point. Bizal sent a shot in just wide right of Erin O'Neil's post, and Makenna Newkirk re-directed it in behind O'Neil for the 1-0 lead.
- 2nd, 1:25 – 2-0, BC GOAL (PPG) | On BC's first power-play chance of the second period, the Eagles got the puck deep and Andie Anastos came around the back of the net, playing the puck up the halfboards to Newkirk. Newkirk created some space and then fired a cross-ice pass to Bizal who sniped a one-timer from the top of the hashmarks for the 2-0 lead and the Eagles' second power-play goal of the game.
- 3rd, 00:40 – 2-1, BU GOAL | The Terriers worked the puck out of the zone through Sarah Steele and Mary Parker, and Victoria Bach picked the puck up out of pile in the corner to Katie Burt's left, cut inside and got a second-effort shot past Burt to pull BU within one.
- 3rd, 00:57 – 3-1, BC GOAL | Just 17 seconds later, Kristyn Capizzano jumped on a loose puck behind BU's goal and skated out wide on the end line before playing it up slightly to Newkirk on the halfboards. Newkirk then connected with Lonergan curling inside and the freshman placed her shot past O'Neil to regain the two-goal cushion.
- 3rd, 4:48 – 3-2, BU GOAL (PPG) | The Terriers worked the puck around the zone on the power-play and Parker tipped in Crossley's shot from the center point, getting BU back within one goal. Alexis Crossley and Rebecca Leslie assisted on the goal, setting up the play on the outside.
- 3rd, 6:55 – 3-3, BU GOAL | Bach corralled Parker's pass at center ice and skated into the BC zone. She went wide of her defender and wristed a shot past Burt to pull BU even with the Terriers' third goal in less than seven minutes.
- 3rd, 9:58 – 3-4, BU GOAL | Steele flicked the puck over to De Sousa down low and after Burt made the initial save, De Sousa pounded in the rebound on the doorstep to give the Terriers their first lead after battling back twice from a two-goal deficit.
- 3rd, 19:45 – 3-5, BU GOAL (ENG) | Nina Rodgers picked up the puck in the neutral zone and broke into the Eagles' end, sending her shot into the open net from the edge of the circle to secure the win.
