Hughes Hits Four Three's, Breaks Program Record In Win

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Kelly Hughes became the program's all-time leader in three-pointers made when she hit her fourth long range shot in the third quarter. Hughes now has 254 three's, one more than former teammate Nicole Boudreau. Hughes finished with 21 points, three rebounds and two assists.
- Sophomore center Mariella Fasoula chipped in with 21 points and eight rebounds.
- Junior guard Martina Mosetti finished the game with a team-high six assists in 21 minutes of action.

- Boston College pulled away from Boston University in the third quarter when Kelly Hughes hit three three-pointers in a two minutes span.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC took a six point lead behind four points from Mariella Fasoula to start the game. BC's defense forced the Terriers into four turnovers in the first five minutes. The Eagles held a 20-8 first quarter lead as Fasoula finished the quarter with 12 points with a number of twist-and-turning layups in the key.
- BU made an 8-2 run to start the second quarter to cut the Eagles lead to 22-16. The Terriers were 5-for-7 from the floor, while BC shot just 1-for-8 from the floor in the first five minutes. A Hughes hit three three-pointers in a two minutes span to spark the Eagles and push the lead to 34-24. The Eagles defense came alive and forced BU into a last second shot on the clock and on the next possession, Katie Quandt scored on an inside move for a 36-24 halftime lead.
- The Terriers came out at the break on an, 8-3, run to cut into the Eagles lead, 38-32. With 2:12 to play in the quarter, Kelly Hughes stuck her fourth three and the Eagles lead was 44-36. BU came back with a small run to end the quarter behind a three-pointer Meghan Green as BC's lead was just five points, 46-41. Eight turnovers and cold shooting hurt BC in the quarter.
- BC opened the fourth quarter shooting 5-for-8 from the floor. Fasoula completed a three-point play while Hughes connected on two fouls shots. The Eagles finished the game on a 15-5 run.
