BC looking for first ACC road win
EAGLES BACK ON THE ROAD AT PITTSBURGH
• Boston College travels to Pittsburgh on Friday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
• The Eagles (5-3-1, 1-2-1 ACC) tied #9 Louisville last Friday at home, 1-1. BC has lost its previous two ACC road matches at #5 Syracuse and #9 North Carolina by a combined 7-0.
• The Panthers (2-7-2, 0-3-1 ACC) are winless at home this year at 0-4-1. They have lost their last two matches to Notre Dame and Saint Mary's.
• Boston College owns a 12-4-2 advantage in the all-time series and has won the last three meetings, including a 2-0 shutout victory last season in Newton.
LAST TIME vs. PITTSBURGH
• Trevor Davock recorded a goal and an assist to lead BC to a 2-0 win against Pittsburgh on Septmeber 19, 2015. It was his first three-point game as an Eagle.Â
• Davock was credited with the game-winner and assisted on the second score.
• Idrissa Bangura scored his second goal of the season in the 67th minute.
• Isaac Normesinu and Simon Enstrom were both credited with assists on Davock's game-winner.
• Cedric Saladin made two saves in goal for his second shutout of the season.
• Normesinu sent in a cross from the right side that found Enstrom past the far post. Enstrom headed it towards the net and with his back to the goal, Davock flicked it past the goalkeeper in what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 12th minute.
• The Eagles put the game away in the 67th minute when Enstrom found an open Davock for a shot. His attempt nailed the left post and deflected to the other side of the box. Bangura was waiting and he sent it home for the second goal.
LEWIS' LATE GOAL FORCES TIE AGAINST #9 LOUISVILLE
• Senior Zeiko Lewis scored the equalizing goal in the 86th minute to force overtime and an eventual 1-1 draw against #9 Louisville last Friday night in Newton.
• It was his third goal of the season.
• Sophomore Simon Enstrom was credited with the assist.
• Sophomore Cedric Saladin made five saves in goal, including one in the first overtime period.
• Both sides took three shots in the first half and both goalkeepers had to make a save. Louisville had the best chance when Daniel Johnson fired a hard shot off a give-and-go, but Saladin dove to his right to make the stop.
• The Cardinals cashed in the first goal of the night in the 65th minute. Geoffrey Dee handled the ball on the end line to the right of the goal. He found Johnson, who was dangerous all night, at the top of the box who finished it for the 1-0 lead.
• Boston College finally found its goal in the 86th minute. Sophomore Trevor Davock took a shot that was saved by the keeper. The rebound went to Enstrom, who turned and found an open Lewis who put it in for the 1-1 tie.
• Louisville outshot BC, 4-1, in the two overtime periods. Saladin was forced to make a save with 37 seconds left in the first OT period.
