The junior is tied for the national lead in sacks and forced fumbles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College junior Harold Landry was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The defensive end recorded his ninth sack and fifth forced fumble in the Eagles' 21-14 victory at NC State on Saturday.
Â
Returning to his home state of North Carolina, Landry tallied three tackles on the day, including a sack that forced a Wolfpack turnover. The Eagles recovered the fumble at the NC State 21-yard line and ended the drive with a field goal.
Â
Landry is tied for first nationally in sacks and forced fumbles. He has recorded 29 tackles on the year and 11 tackles for a loss of 77 yards.
Â
This is the second time in his career he earned conference weekly honors, picking up Defensive Lineman of the Week accolades after logging a career-high 11 tackles, including a career-high 4.5 tackles for a loss of 27 yards, against then No. 9/6 Florida State in 2015.
Along with Landry, Florida's State Derrick Nnadi earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Â
The Boston College defense has held opponents to under 100 rushing yards in 20 of the last 33 games, allowing just 31 to NC State. This season, BC has not allowed more than 50 rushing yards in all four victories.
Â
The Eagles host No. 5 Louisville on Saturday, Nov. 5 at noon. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the BC IMG Radio Network, WEEI 850 AM locally. Tickets are still available by visiting bceagles.com or calling (617) 552-GoBC.
