- After a one-week hiatus from Hockey East play, the Eagles return to conference action this weekend with a home-and-home set against Connecticut
- The Eagles' next nine games will all be against Hockey East opponents, taking the team through the beginning of December
- Entering the weekend, BC sits atop the Hockey East standings with 6 points from four games
Series Notes vs. Connecticut
- The Eagles lead the all-time series between the teams, 28-14-7
- Between 2001-02 and 2006-07, UConn went 11-6-3 against BC … since 2007-08, BC is 22-3-4 vs. Connecticut
- Boston College has won the last eight meetings between the two teams - four match-ups each in the last two years
- BC is 11-8-6 against UConn in Storrs ... at Kelley Rink, BC is 15-6-1 … the teams have met twice on neutral ice, both in the Hockey East Tournament
- The Eagles are 11-0-0 at home vs. Connecticut since the 2007-08 season
- The teams first met in 2001-02, with UConn going 2-0-1 in three meetings
- The Eagles' first win against Connecticut came on Feb. 16, 2003 in the teams' sixth meeting

- Kristyn Capizzano (4a, 2a in 11 games) and Kenzie Kent (1g, 5a in 8 games) each have collected six points against the Huskies
- Makenna Newkirk averaged a point per game against Connecticut last year as a freshman, picking up 1 goal and 3 assists
- Kristyn Capizzano (3g, 2a) and Kenzie Kent (1g, 4a) each have five points vs. the Huskies, while Toni Ann Miano (0-4-4) has four points
- Katie Burt is 8-0-0 against Connecticut, with a 1.00 goals against average with a .938 save percentage and four shutouts - two each of her first two seasons
Keller Swapping Maroon & Gold For Red, White & Blue
- Megan Keller will not be available to the Eagles this weekend against Connecticut or next weekend against Boston University while she is with the U.S. National Team at the Four Nations Cup
- She will join Team USA on Friday, Oct. 28, and is scheduled to return to the Eagles on Monday, Nov. 7.Â
- This will mark the second time she has played in the Four Nations Cup, helping win gold in 2014
- She is one of six BC Eagles on the 23 player roster set to represent the U.S., joining Alex Carpenter '16, Emily Pfalzer '15, Haley Skarupa '16, Kelli Stack '11 and Dana Trivigno '16
- Keller is one of three collegians on the team and the youngest player on the U.S.' Four Nations Cup roster
What's Keller Taking With Her To Finland
- Megan Keller is currently the Eagles' second-leading scorer with 7 points (1 goal, 6 assist)
- She is tied for first nationally in points among all defenders
- Keller's six assists are the most among the Eagles and are tied for 11th nationally
Special Teams Doing Special Things
- Boston College's special teams have been hot to start the season
- The Eagles lead the nation in combined special teams, proving successful in 54-of-82 opportunities this season
- On the power play, BC ranks third nationally - and first among teams with more than one weekend of play - with a 31.6 percent conversion (12-for-38)
- The team's 12 power-play goals are tops nationally, as well
- On the penalty kill, the Eagles rank fifth nationally with a 93.2 percent success rate while scoring one shorthanded goal
- So far this season, 13 of the Eagles' 22 goals have come via special teams (12 PPGs, 1 SHG)
Whistles While You Work
- Boston College is one of the nation's top penalty-kill teams, and it's been a handy trait this season
- The Eagles have already accumulated 108 penalty minutes through eight games on 50 penalty calls
- BC ranks eighth nationally in penalty minutes per game (13.5) and the team's 108 penalties are third-most in the country
- The Eagles have been called for at least six penalties in seven of eight games this season, including a season-high 8 at Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 1
- BC's low was three penalties at Maine on Oct. 15
Defense Buckling Down
- After opening the season with eight goals allowed in two games, the Eagles have averaged 1.15 goals allowed in the last six games
- Five times in the last six games, BC has surrendered one goal or less - including a shutout of No. 3 Quinnipiac on Oct. 21
- BC has allowed an average of 21 shots per game the last six contests
Poll Climbers
- After last weekend's series win over third-ranked Quinnipiac, the Eagles moved back up two places in both polls
- BC is now ranked No. 4 in the USCHO poll and No. 5 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll
- Last week's dip to No. 6 in the USCHO poll marked the first time since Feb. 10, 2014 that BC was not ranked in the top 5 of that poll
- Boston College is the lone Hockey East team ranked in either poll, but leads a pack of six Eastern teams ranked in the top 10
Caitrin Is Cutting It Up!
- Freshman forward Caitrin Lonergan has already shown why she's a contender for ACHA National Freshman of the Year
- The forward from Roslindale, Mass., leads the Eagles in points with 9 from 5 goals and 4 assists
- She is currently tied for second nationally in freshman scoring and is tied for the freshman lead in goals
- Her three power-play goal are not only tied for the national freshman lead, but are also tied for second nationally among all skaters
- Lonergan has recorded at least one point in six of eight games this year, with her best output coming in the Eagles' 4-1 win at No. 3 Quinnipiac: one goal (SHG) and two assists, including the primary set-up on the game-winning goal
Bizal Going Bonkers Back There
- Through eight games, defenseman Grace Bizal already has six points - ranking third on the team in scoring
- As a freshman, Bizal posted 11 points in 41 game with all 1 1 points coming via assists
- So far this year, Bizal already has five assists - which took her 20 games to reach in 2015-16 - and has scored her first career goal
- Bizal has been a key member of the Eagles' power-play unit this year, although only two of her assists have come on the man-advantage
- Already this year, BC is 4-0-0 when she records a point and 0-2-2 when she is held off the box score
