The Eagles have a goal to register 1,040 donors
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has partnered with former linebacker Luke Kuechly and Project Life Movement to inspire, encourage and register volunteers to the national marrow registry. Other schools in the Atlantic Coast Conference are doing the same.
Â
For three days – from Oct. 20 to Oct. 22 – BC SAAC will educate and empower community members about the critical need for marrow and stem cell donors while providing opportunities for people to perform a simple cheek swab to become part of this vital, life-saving campaign.
Â
In honor of Boston College legend Luke Kuechly's jersey being retired on Saturday, the Eagles set the goal of registering 1,040 donors.
Â
SAAC will be at the following locations to add to add to the donor registry:Â
Thursday Oct. 20: Stokes Outdoor Amphitheater (between Stokes and McElroy) 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Friday Oct. 21: Academic Quad (between Fulton, Gasson, Lyons, Devlin) 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday Oct. 22: Campanella Way (Outside Alumni Stadium) Pre- and Postgame
Â
Everyone who completes the cheek swab will be entered into the bone marrow database and will also be entered into a drawing to win a signed Boston College Luke Kuechly jersey.
