BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Boston College held advantages in shots (9-5) and corner kicks (12-2).
- Sophomore Trevor Davock matched Clemson as a team with a game-high five shots.
- Sophomore Cedric Saladin made two saves in goal to record his fifth shutout of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College nearly scored in the third minute when senior Zeiko Lewis led Davock beautifully down the left side. Davock's shot beat the keeper, but didn't curl in enough as it hit the left post and stayed out.
- One of Clemson's best opportunities came with 25 minutes left in the first half. Michael Swift came off the bench and received a pass near the top of the box. He took a couple of touches and fired a shot, but it was right at Saladin who made the save.
- Davock came close again with 17 minutes remaining when he took a shot from 16 yards out. The ball hit a Clemson defender and then just skipped wide of the left post.
- The chances were scarce in the second half as both sides took just three shots. Clemson's Diego Campos was open on the left side of the box but at a tough angle, and his shot sailed wide of the far post with 16 minutes left.
- Sophomore Simon Enstrom made a nice run down the right side of the box and fired a shot, but the Clemson keeper made a diving save with just nine minutes showing on the clock.
- Neither team took a shot in the two 10-minute overtime periods.
