Lacrosse Picked Eighth in Nike/LM Preseason Poll

BALTIMORE - The Boston College Eagles were ranked eighth in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Poll, released Monday by the Lacrosse Magazine Staff. The Maroon and Gold are one of seven schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference to be included in the top-20 preseason poll by the publication.

The two-time defending NCAA Division I national champion Maryland leads the pact while ACC foes North Carolina and Syracuse are ranked second and third, respectively.

Notre Dame, who the Eagles are 2-0 ago since the Irish joined the conference prior to the 2014 season, are ranked one spot ahead of Boston College at the No. 7.

Virginia (11), Duke (12), and Louisville (14) round out the ACC schools listed in the preseason rankings.

Boston College, who placed 10th in the final Nike/LM Top-20 poll of the season after advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament last May, will face eight of the top-20 teams during the 2016 campaign. They kick off their season at rival Boston University on February 14.
