Six Things You Should Know About BC Softball

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The snow and bitter chill of winter might have you fooled, but softball season is just around the corner.
With just a little over two weeks remaining before Boston College squares off with Maryland on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m., the Eagles are hard at work during practice. But that didn't stop senior Megan Cooley, junior Tatiana Cortez and sophomore Allyson Frei from stopping by and giving us a little insight on the team.
With that said, here are six things you should know about Boston College softball:
1. In Scooter we trust
"We never play without our team tortoise. His name is Scooter and he sits in the dugout and brings us luck for all of our games."
2. There's a liar among us
"Chloe Sharabba and coach Ashley [Obrest] played basketball one-on-one. We still can't get the truth about who actually won."
3. We're always competitive
"Our team plays football or hackey sack before every game to loosen up. It always gets as competitive as the actual softball game."
4. Cooley belongs on "Hoarders"
"If you can't find something, try checking in Megan Cooley's locker. She puts everything she can find in there. Everything."
5. All about that burrito
"Post-practice Chipotle runs are always a team favorite. Annie Murphy has been spotted downing two burrito bowls in one sitting."
6. Our coach has an addiction
"Coach Ashley [Obrest] will never say no to team Fro-Yo on the road. She swears by oreo and red velvet."
