Assistant Coach Griffin Named to U.S. Women's Tournament Team

BALTIMORE – Boston College women's lacrosse assistant coach Brooke Griffin was named to the U.S. Women's Team roster for their upcoming foreign tour in England this summer, as announced in a release by the US Lacrosse team .

Griffin, a 2015 graduate of Maryland and a two-time National Champion, joined the Eagles coaching staff in June after the completion of her senior season, in which she helped the Terrapins defeat North Carolina 9-8 in the title game held at PPL Park in Chester, Pa.

The Edgewater, Maryland native was one of seven attackers named to the 24-member roster that will travel to the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, England for scheduled games against England, Scotland and Wales between June 28 and July 4.

On being named to the team, Griffin said,

"Being chosen to be on the roster for the USA Foreign Tour Team is a dream come true. I am presented with the opportunity to represent my country, playing the sport I love. I feel very honored and humbled to have this amazing opportunity and I will play to the best of my ability to represent the USA. I have a great deal of respect for everyone involved, past and present. I'm excited to work hard for my teammates, coaches and country. GO USA!"

While she is excited for joining the U.S. squad overseas in June, her focus is on helping coach the Maroon and Gold as they seek their fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance.

The Eagles begin their season at Boston University on February 14.
