- Junior Kelly Hughes and freshman Mariella Fasoula combined for 37 points and 14 rebounds to lead Boston College past Yale, 73-60, in a non-conference game at Conte Forum on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles improved to 12-3 (0-2 ACC) and will host No. 3 Notre Dame on Thursday night. Yale is now 9-8 overall and has not started Ivy League play.
- Freshman Mariella Fasoula was 9-for-11 from the floor for 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
- Junior Kelly Hughes hit 4-of-7 from the arc and finished with 18 points, five rebounds and two steals.
- Senior Alexa Coulombe earned her second start of the season and finished with a career-high 12 rebounds and had a team-high five assists.
- Boston College went inside from the start as Mariella Fasoula had six of the Eagles first eight points. Yale battled back behind a three from Emmy Allen followed by a layup by Tamara Simpson. Yale led by four with 1:22 to play behind four three's in the quarter. Nicole Boudreau cut the lead to two on a layup at the buzzer – BC 23, Yale 25.
- Both teams shot over 70 percent from the floor, while Yale was 4-for-7 from the arc in the quarter.
- After a high scoring first quarter, both teams turned on the defense. The Eagles opened up with a three by Hughes. The two teams went back and forth and Yale took a four point lead with 4:54 to play on an inside drive by Jen Berkowitz. Fasoula picked up her third foul and sat the remainder of the quarter. Four foul shots by Katie Quandt cut into the lead as BC was down one, 34-33, after two quarter.
- The Eagles opened the second half on a 5-0 run. Yale scored on a layup at 5:56 but the Eagles pushed the lead to nine points when Nicole Boudreau connected on back-to-back three-pointers. A Coulombe block led to two freebies by Hughes, BC was up 10 points with 3:02 to play.
- Kailey Edwards made an impact at the start of the fourth. She caused a turnover which led to her completing a fast break layup. Yale responded to cut the lead to nine points but a 10 point run by the Eagles, six from Martina Mosetti (eight points), gave the Eagles a 62-48 lead with less than five to play. Yale battled but a Hughes three with less than three to play, halted any comeback thoughts.

- The lead changed eight times but the Eagles held the lead from the eight minute mark of the third quarter and on. It was a three-pointer from Hughes that gave BC a 37-34 lead. The play was a broken play but Alexa Coulombe chased down an offensive rebound and found Hughes on the top of the key.
- BC had a 37-26 edge in rebounds.
