Landry Named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week

The sophomore tallied a career-high 11 tackles against Florida State
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College sophomore Harold Landry was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week, the league announced on Monday. He logged a career-high 11 tackles, including seven solo stop and a career-high 4.5 tackles for a loss of 27 yards, in the 14-0 loss to No. 9/6 Florida State.
The Fayetteville, N.C., native also recorded 1.5 sacks for a loss of 18 yards and helped the BC defense hold the FSU offense to just one touchdown, on the game-opening drive. After the 83-yard drive, Landry and the BC defense allowed just 134 total yards for the rest of the night, including only 20 rushing yards in the second half. Landry and the Eagles also held FSU running back Delvin Cook to just 54 rushing yards without a score after he came into the game averaging 211 yards per game with five touchdowns.
Florida State came into the game averaging 538.5 yards and 272.0 rushing yards and BC allowed just 217 yards, including 98 rushing yards. Landry and the BC defense has allowed 100 rushing yards or less 10 times in the last 16 games.
Landry leads Boston College with 16 tackles, eight tackles for a loss of 49 yards, three sacks for a loss of 30 yards and is tied for the team lead with 11 solo stops. He is the second BC player to earn the weekly league honors after senior Mehdi Abdesmad took home the same accolades after the first week of the season.
The Eagles (2-1) host Northern Illinois (2-1) on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
