Chestnut Hill, Mass.- For the Boston College football team, preseason camp is over and the Eagles have started game preparation for the season-opening bout with Maine on Sept. 5.
Camp ended with the third intrasquad scrimmage, in which BC continued to make strides looking toward the first game. The offense was fueled by junior running back Myles Willis, who scored three touchdowns to lead the way.
The talk of the preseason has been how the BC offense will adjust to a new quarterback (sophomore Darius Wade) and brand new offensive line. With a stellar group of running backs and a QB with an arm, ESPN's David Hale explains how the Eagles will balance the numbers. As many have noted, the success of the offense will be the growth of the O-Line.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles are looking to be one of the top-five defenses in the country and - as senior defensive lineman Connor Wujciak told ESPN's Andrea Adelson - there is no reason to think otherwise.
Looking ahead in the season, the Eagles are part of Paul Lukas's "ACC Uni Watch" for the throwbacks they will wear at Fenway Park against Notre Dame on Nov. 21.
In the NFL, recent graduate Tyler Murphy is trying looking to keep his spot on the Steelers' roster. After a breakout game in the wide receiver position, it might be catching passes instead of throwing them.
