Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College football team continues to make strides on the practice field as the Eagles set their sights on week one of the regular season against Maine (Sept. 5).
One of the standouts in the first intrasquad scrimmage was freshman athlete Ben Glines, who has been working with the wide receivers in preseason camp. He is catching the attention of his teammates and coaches as a product from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, which produced the likes of Luke Kuechly, Alex Albright and teammate senior linebacker Steven Daniels.
Inside The ACC previewed the BC this morning and noted that sophomore running back Jon Hilliman is poised to be the key to the Eagles' offense, but it's the BC defense's consistency that has helped the Eagles many successes.
A congratulations are in order for former Eagle Gosder Cherilus, a Somerville, Mass., native who signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He joins recent BC graduate Josh Keyes in Florida. Also on the professional front, running back and BC product Andre Williams had laser eye surgery to improve his game, which the Giants certainly think will help.
