Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Eagles wrapped up the first week of preseason camp with a scrimmage on Saturday morning and third-year head coach Steve Addazio got a first-hand look at what the Eagles need to work on before the season opener on Sept. 5 against Maine.
The more experienced defense seemed to win the scrimmage and freshman linebacker Jimmy Martin scoring the only touchdown on an interception return. The defense under third-year coordinator Don Brown was encouraged by what he saw on the field.
The much-talked about offensive line has "a long way to go" before the 2015 season starts. Sophomore quarterback Darius Wade passed his first test of first live action football in preseason camp.
On the local front, freshman offensive lineman Aaron Monteiro, from Brockton, Mass., explains why he chose Boston College and how he hopes to contributes. Classmate an d fellow offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom, a Dudley, Mass., native, explained how enrolling at BC early helped in his development. Worcester, Mass., native Isaac Yiadom, a sophomore defensive back, is expected to be a major contributor in the secondary this season.
In the NFL, Boston College standout Andre Williams is improving his game in the Giants' backfield.
