Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College football unveiled the throwback uniforms that the Eagles will wear against Notre Dame on Nov. 21 when the Holy War is renewed at Fenway Park. The unis pay homage to the 1984 season in which Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie connected with Gerard Phelan to defeat Miami and go on to beat Houston in the 1985 Cotton Bowl. Members of the team, along with third-year head coach Steve Addazio and assistant coaches participated in the annual Media Day event, speaking to local reporters about the upcoming 2015 season.
Addazio noted that the key to the Eagles' success in 2015 will be the development of a young team.
While much of the talk during preseason has been about the rebuilding of the offensive line (a lot of talk!) with Harris Williams , as the anchor, ESPN's Matt Fortuna argued that Boston College has the best running back unit in the ACC. Addazio also feels he has a surplus of riches in the backfield.
Senior defensive lineman Mehdi Abdesmad is coming off two injury-plagued seasons and is in good spirits, excited to return to the field.
In NFL action, recent graduate quarterback Tyler Murphy is looking to make the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster - as either a QB or wide receiver.
