Three Lacrosse Players Earn All-ACC Academic Team Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Boston College placed three student-athletes - Mikaela Rix, Tess Chandler and Caroline Margolis - on the 2015 All-ACC Academic Women's Lacrosse team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award was established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Candidates for the award must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average for their career as well as a 3.0 for each of the last two semesters.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Rix, a senior, graduated in May from the Carroll School of Business with a degree in finance. Rix is a three-time recipient of the All-ACC Academic team. She was also the recipient of the ACC post-graduate scholarship.
A native of Garden City, N.Y., Rix scored 47 points in just 14 games. She missed five games due to an injury. She a First Team All-American last season, scored 47 points in just 14 games played. Chandler, a sophomore from Holliston, Mass., is a communications major in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. Chandler played in all 19 games and finished the season as the fifth leading scorer with 28 goals, six assists for 38 points.
Margolis, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, is an applied psychology and human development major in the Lynch School of Education. She is also working on a second degree in economics. The junior midfielder was the third leading scorer for the Eagles with 37 goals, 28 assists for 65 points, all career-highs.
