Frei Voted to NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman pitcher Allyson Frei was voted to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's Mid-Atlantic All-Region third team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Frei, a product of Branchville, New Jersey, led the Eagles in all pitching categories this season, including earned run average (2.75), wins (19), appearances (41), starts (35), shutouts (4), innings (204.0), strikeouts (228) and opponent batting average (.243).
In her first season at The Heights, Frei made an immediate impact. Her 35 starts and 19 wins tied BC single-season records. Frei's 228 strikeouts were the second-best single-season mark in school history, while her 204.0 innings pitched and 41 appearances were both tied for the second-best single-season marks at BC.
In ACC action, Frei's 2.71 ERA was fifth-best in the conference, while her 99 league strikeouts were second-most and her 90.1 innings pitched were third-most.
This is the second straight year and 12th time overall that Boston College has been represented on the all-region team.
The Eagles wrapped up the 2015 season in the first round of the ACC Championship, falling to eventual champion and ninth-ranked Florida State. Boston College was 27-25 on the year, including a 6-16 mark in ACC play, which qualified the team for their fourth conference championship.
