Olivia Adragna Earns All-ACC Academic Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College's Olivia Adragna was named to the 214-15 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Fencing All-ACC Academic team as released by the the conference this afternoon.
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award was established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Candidates for the award must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average for their career as well as a 3.0 for each of the last two semesters.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Adragna, a native of Malverne, N.Y., finished in 20th place in the women's epee event, winning eight of her 23 matches. This was Adragna's second NCAA Championship appearance; she also qualified for the competition as a freshman.
The 2015 ACC Co-Women's Fencer of the Year for Epée, sharing the honor with Notre Dame's, Adragna finished the regular season with a 51-17 record.
