#3 Lacrosse Faces Orange in ACC Championship

- Teams: #3 Boston College (14-2, 5-2 ACC) vs. #6 Syracuse (11-6, 3-4 ACC)
- Date: Thursday, April 23 - 6 p.m.

#3 SEED BC VS. #6 SEED SYRACUSE IN ACC CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST ROUND
- This will be the first meeting between Boston College and Syracuse in the ACC Championships.
- The Eagles and Orange clashed earlier this season on Feb. 28, when BC earned its first ever victory over Syracuse at the Carrier Dome.
- The game will be broadcast on NESN+ and ESPN3 with Leah Secondo on the call.
- Boston College enters the matchup riding a three-game winning streak while Syracuse has won its past two games.
THE LAST MEETING VS. SYRACUSE
- Boston College defeated the Orange, 10-9, earlier this season on Feb. 28 at the Carrier Dome.
- The win marked the first Eagle victory over Syracuse in program history.
- Then #7/6 Boston College, led by junior midfielder Caroline Margolis' four-goal performance, upset then #3/2 Syrcause in front of a crowd of 926.
- Syracuse jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first two minutes, putting the Eagles in a hole early.
- Boston College responded with three unanswered goals (Sarah Mannelly -- 2, Caroline Margolis -- 1) to even the game at three goals apiece.
- The Eagles and the Orange entered half time knotted up at 5-5.
- In the second half, the teams traded goals until Stanwick and Margolis scored back-to-back to make it 10-8, BC, as the clock ran out to gain an edge on SU.
- Sophomore midfielder Tess Chandler held SU's Kayla Treanor to zero points and zero shots on goal to shut down the Orange's biggest offensive threat.
EAGLES IN THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP
- Boston College is 2-9 in the ACC Championships since the Eagles joined the conference in 2006.
- The Eagles' two wins have both come against Virginia Tech in the first round (2013 & 2011).
- The last time the ACC Championships were held in Charlottesville, Virginia, BC fell to UNC, 12-8, in the first round.
