Sailing Wins The Fowle Trophy

Fowle Trophy
The Boston College sailing team went 16-2 to win the Fowle Trophy this past weekend. The victory qualifies the team for the ICSA Team Race at the Nationals. Roger Williams was second at 12-6, while Yale placed third with a 12-6 record. Tufts placed third at 11-7 and Harvard went 10-8 to place fifth. The top four teams qualified for the nationals.
The Eagles were led by skippers William Bailey, Erika Reineke and Raul Rios. The crews for the weekend were Katja Sertl, Katherine Wysocki, Christopher Dwyer, Elizabeth Barnard, Domenic Bove and Alex Palfrey.
Mystic Team Race
The Eagles placed second at the Mystic Team Race with a 9-2 record. Tufts won the event with a 10-1 record. URI placed third and Brown was fourth with the same record of 5-6.
The skippers for BC were Ryan Schmitz, Henry Dumke and Marcos Darcy. The crews for the weekend were Lily McGrath, Katherine Downey and Kyla MacLennan.
The Eagles will compete in the Central Series, the Owen Regatta, the President's Women's Trophy and the Thompson Trophy next week.
