#3/4 Lacrosse Travels to #2/3 UNC Saturday

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - No. 3/4 Boston College (8-0, 3-0 ACC) travels to No. 2/3 North Carolina (8-1, 1-0 ACC) to take on the Tarheels on Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m. The Eagles look to extend their unbeaten streak to nine games against UNC.

Team Records
The No. 3/4 Boston College Eagles are undefeated at 8-0 on the season heading into Saturday's matchup against the Tarheels. The Eagles recently overcame the No. 12 Louisville Cardinals in overtime and downed UConn, 13-5. BC also beat No. 14 Notre Dame, 15-6, in its home opener (Mar. 7). The Eagles overpowered the Holy Cross Crusaders, 17-6 (Mar. 3), as well as recording a 10-9 upset over No. 2/3 Syracuse in their ACC opener (Feb. 28). BC has also overcome UVM, 13-10 (Feb. 21), UMass-Lowell, 24-4 (Feb. 17) and No. 18/17 Johns Hopkins, 9-5, in their season opener (Feb. 14). Boston College is 3-0 in ACC play.
No. 2/3 UNC is 8-1 coming off of an 15-14 double overtime win over Towson. The Tarheels' sole loss came at Maryland on Feb. 21, when UNC fell to the Terrapins, 13-11.UNC has also defeated tough opponents including No. 3/4 Florida, No. 6 Northwestern, No. 8 Virginia, and No. 19 Albany.
Team Leaders
Senior attacker Covie Stanwick leads the Eagles with 37 points on a team-high 27 goals and ten assists. Stanwick's 27 goals are tied for sixth in the nation. Junior midfielder Caroline Margolis is second on the team with 33 points on 21 goals and 12 assists.
Aly Messinger sits atop the Tarheels with 23 points on 15 goals and eight assists while Sammy Jo Tracy follows with 21 points on a team-high 19 goals and two assists.

The Last Meeting & History
Boston College fell to North Carolina, 14-10, in the first round of the ACC Tournament at Alumni Stadium on April 24, 2014. Mikaela Rix recorded five points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Tarheels.
The Eagles are 1-12 against UNC in the all-time series. BC's sole victory came in 2008, when the Maroon & Gold outlasted the Tarheels, 5-4, in a hotly contested double overtime game. Since that win, the Eagles have gone 0-9 vs. UNC.
