BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Mikaela Rix scored four goals, giving her 22 on the season. Junior midfielder Sarah Mannelly finished with three goals and two assists while midfielder Caroline Margolis had one goal and three assists. Senior attacker Covie Stanwick added two goals and an assists in the win.
TURNING POINTS
- After BC gave up a three goal lead and with the scored tied, 3-3, at 18:44 to play in the first half the Eagles offense awoke.
- Caroline Margolis earned a free position shot and gave BC a 4-3 lead but it was two straight goals by Sarah Mannelly at 16:37 and 15:30 in the game that crushed UConn's hopes of an upset.
- Mannelly scored two unassisted goals on two great runs through the middle of the field. UConn did not score until 12:26 in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC went up 3-0 early on goals by Mikaela Rix, Tess Chandler and Covie Stanwick.
- After UConn tied the game at 3-3, BC responded with five straight goals to go ahead at the half, 8-3. Sarah Mannelly had two goals while Kara Magley added her first of the season and Mikaela Rix notched her second of the game in the run.
- The second half opened with Rix scored two straight giving BC a 10-3 lead. UConn responded with two goals but Mannelly scored with 7:55 to play giving BC a 12-4 lead.
- BC's final goal was scored by defender Molly Erdle with 37 seconds left in the game. It was her first of the season.
