Eagles Sweep ACC Player of the Week

Chestnut Hill, Mass.- Boston College senior attacker Covie Stanwick and junior midfielder Sarah Mannelly have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. Stanwick and Mannelly earned these honors for their performances in the Eagles' 15-6 victory over #16 Notre Dame on March 7.
Stanwick scored a career-high seven goals against the Irish, and notched an assist for the team's season high of eight points. The Eagles and the Irish were tied, 3-3, in the first half before the Eagles embarked on a nine-goal run that included five goals from Stanwick.
The Baltimore, Md. native leads Boston College with 27 points on 19 goals and eight assists through six games. This is Stanwick's first ACC Player of the Week accolade of the season.
Mannelly led Boston College with two caused turnovers on Saturday. The Eagles' defense forced 16 Irish turnovers overall on Saturday. The junior midfielder also led the Eagles with three draw controls and scored two goals in the matchup. This is the New Canaan, Conn. native's second ACC Player of the Week honor this season.
Stanwick, Mannelly and the Eagles return to action on Wednesday, March 11 as they host Louisville at noon.
