McCoy, Settipane Named All-Americans

Both Eagles earn second-team honors
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College junior Emily McCoy and senior Leah Settipane were named to the 2015 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I All-American Second Team, the organization announced on Monday. It was the first All-America nod for both Eagles.

McCoy, a midfielder from Lancaster, Pa., led the Eagles with 26 points and 10 goals. She also tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals. She finished the season with six assists, 62 shots and one penalty stroke. The junior picked up All-ACC Second-Team honors and NFHCA All-Northeast Region First-Team accolades for her play in 2015.

Settipane started all 22 games in net for BC. She put together a 1.87 goals-against average, allowing just 42 goals while making 135 saves. Her saves total and 6.14 saves per game ranked first in the ACC, while her .763 save percentage was second. She also recorded four shutouts on the season, third in the ACC. The East Greenwich, R.I., native also collected FHCA All-Northeast Region First-Team honors.

McCoy and Settipane are the 17th and 18th Eagles to earn All-America accolades. In all, BC has collected 28 total honors. Sixteen Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes were named to one of the three All-America teams. For the complete list, click here.
