Rookie center Mariella Fasoula scored 13 of her 20 points in the final quarter and finished with a team-high 20 points, seven rebounds and three blocks to lead Boston College to a 74-59 victory over non-conference foe Bryant (3-8) at Conte Forum Wednesday night.
BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Mariella Fasoula shot eight-for-12 from the floor to finish with 20 points.
- Junior Emilee Daley hit seven-for-11 from the floor, including eight points in the third quarter. She finished with 17 points, two boards and two assists in just 23 minutes.
- Senior Nicole Boudreau broke out of scoring slump as she scored 12 points but also had three steals and three assists. Boudreau was four-for-nine from the outside.
- BC had a season-high 15 steals.
- Kailey Edwards stole a pass at 5:36, which led to her layup to give BC 63-55 lead.
- Bryant came out shooting and took a quick 7-2 lead after the three from Kierra Palmer three minutes into the action. The lead grew to six points with 3:45 left in the quarter. A three-pointer from Kelly Hughes cut the lead to 16-12 with 1:37 to play. The Eagles cut the lead to five at the half on a jumper by Emilee Daley – BC 14, Bryant 19.
- The second quarter was much the same as BC tied the game at 25-25 with 6:25 to play. BC took its first lead at 4:18 on a three by Nicole Boudreau.
- The two teams exchanged baskets but Bryant took the halftime lead on a layup by Maureen Leahy with 15 seconds to play – BC 40, Bryant 41.
- The third quarter Emilee Daley opened up with two three's and layup to give BC a, 52-46, lead at 4:42. Daley was shooting 7-for-9 at this point in the game with three from long range. Bryant ended the quarter on a six point run to close the BC lead, 54-52.
- Fasoula took control of the game from there as she scored 13 points in the quarter, including seven in the final three minutes to seal the victory.

GAME NOTES
- Bryant is the first team to have the lead over BC after the first quarter – 19-14 ... After giving up 41 points at the half, Boston College gave up just 18 second half points, including just seven in the fourth quarter.
- The Eagles bench continues to contribute, outscoring Bryant – 28-17.
- BC had 15 steals vs. Bryant. That gives the Eagles four consecutive games with 10 or more steals.
- The Eagles scored 22 points off turnovers.
- The lead changed 13 times with the score being tied three times.
- From the 7:51 mark of the third quarter, after Emilee Daley hit her third three-pointer of the game, BC held the lead the rest of the game.
- The Eagles are currently 11-1. It marks the best start for the program since the 2010-11 team opened up 12-1.
