
Demko, White Earn Monthly Merit from Hockey East

Thatcher Demko has been named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for both October and November this season
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior Thatcher Demko and first-year forward Colin White were tabbed the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month and Hockey East Rookie of the Month (November), respectively, on Wednesday morning.

Demko's season started in historic fashion as the Eagle netminder posted six shutouts in seven starts, marking the second time that's ever been performed in the history of college hockey.

The San Diego native has strung together a perfect 7-0-0 mark in the month of December, stopping 187-of-197 shots faced for a .949 save percentage. In all, Demko surrendered only 10 goals on seven games to finish with a 1.43 goals against average for the month.

White exploded in November, posting a multi-point performance in six of seven games, totaling five goals and 12 assists as a whole for the month. The Hanover, Mass., native averaged 2.43 points per game as the rookie is currently in the midst of an eight-game point streak.

Demko is currently second in the nation in both goals against average (1.23) and save percentage (.953) and leads the nation with six shutouts on the season already.

White leads all rookies in points per game and is the sixth-most prolific scorer in the nation, scoring at a rate of 1.62 points per game.

Demko has already been voted the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month in addition to winning Hockey East Player of the Week (Nov. 9) and Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 25). White has been tabbed Hockey East Rookie of the Week on both Oct. 19 and Nov. 30 this season.
