HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set One:
Boston College started the afternoon by scoring eight of the first 12 points following kills from Brittany Pavich, Katty Workman and Anna Skold, with an array of attack errors committed by the UNC offense. The Eagles extended their lead in the opening set to 14-7 after UNC's Taylor Treacy surrendered three straight attack errors. After a quick 3-0 run by the Heels, BC responded with a 5-2 run of their own to close out the frame by a score of 25-19.
Set Two:
In the second set, the Eagles and Tar Heels battled to five tied scores, but BC took the lead at the 7-6 mark, courtesy of a Katty Workman kill, and never trailed again, victorious by a score of 25-23. After the Eagles took the lead, they extended it to as much as seven at 21-14, the result of recorded kills from Calvete, Pavich and Julia Topor. Despite the Tar Heels 8-3 run to cut away at the lead, Sol Calvete finished the set with a kill on an assist from Camille Oemcke to head into the break with Boston College ahead 2-0.
Set Three:
North Carolina took their first set of the afternoon in the third, winning 25-20, after they erased an early 5-1 deficit in the frame. After tying the game at 6-apiece, the two squads battled back-and-forth and saw tied scores at 10-all, 11-all, 12-all and 14-all. However, the Tar Heels broke away at the final tied score as they went on a 4-0 run to fuel the effort in the third set.
Set Four:

Set Five:
In the deciding fifth game, UNC forced BC to call timeout after they jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in the first-to-15 set. The Eagles chipped away at their opponents lead, and pulled within two following a Franny Hock service ace, but were unable to overcome the Heels as BC dropped the clincher 15-9.
